Grid.org - United Devices
Looking in the "Distributed Computing" section here on PCMech, it seems everything is folding@home; but what about other programs?
Is anybody familiar with United Devices (see www.grid.org for more information)? Why is it that there is very little to no mention of them here? |

first I have heard of it, I will follow the link and do some reading.
Folding is popular as it is going to medical use, at least we hope.

Right now UD (United Devices) is working on two projects, both medical in nature:
Human Proteome Folding Project United Devices Cancer Research Project, Phase II It looks like they sometimes do non-medical projects, such as a web performance testing project they carried out a while ago, but users have the ability to select which projects they want to work on. If a non-medical project came up you could exclude your computer from taking part in it. |
