Anyone see this comming?

it seems that because of stanfords lack of end-user support their top folder, OC-AMD has pulled out along with 1, possibly 2 other top 10 folders in the world!

F@H is getting to the point that it isn't a non-intrusive application...
I think that, if nothing else does, validates people getting frustrated. This thing is supposed to just use unused resources, not take them up from other applications which need them. I know that this is for science and to try and research cures for very debilitating diseases, but if it prevents your machines from being able to function properly, then it's not very beneficial for end users.

thats why i use the screensavers rather than the actual program. granted, it doesn't fold as much, but it does exactly what i want - fold when i am not working on my computer.

i found the regular program to be too intrusive as you stated

Kinda like what I said a few weeks ago, they should give the option for people to get smaller work units for less points. Work units that a person could complete in a reasonable amount of time.

Lately I have been getting a couple with 2000 steps, on a couple boxes and they seem to take close to 2 days to complete. I don't monitor them like a hawk but that is too much. Also those where low points I believe.

Is there a good way to determine the points a WU should yeild? I don't run the eletronic Mic. often as not all the computers are always on. I guess I could put it on each machine instead of mapping them all over to one but I have not taken the time to do so.

=========
BTW, i am closing on the top 100.

ok, I just went ahead and setup the EM for all my machines, of course I only installed it on my PC 1 and read the other boxes remotely.

for about 30 minutes i was wondering if the link was reading the other 3 boxes, then finally Box 3 registered, since boxes 2, 3, and 4 where all working very large WU, 5000, 2000, and 5000 steps, I found they had to complete a percent before the EM picked up on them. now a few hours later it is reading them all.

yeah, i have noticed that with EMIII it sometimes takes awhile for it to pickup on the other boxes. most of the time i start it and let it sit for about an hour before i check the stats.

I just went into the options and moved the slider so that it only uses about 70% of resources so that it isnt going full blast all the time.
