yea, it doesn't always drop cpu use when it should
I can not play starwars battle front online with folding running in the back ground.

Foldin' For PCMech!

if you are using the text-only version you shouldn't have a problem with games.
when i used the graphical client i would even get errors when the screen saver would open! now have text-only and have had zero problems!

The graphical client uses OpenGL as many games do, thats why you are getting the conflict. Whenever I used to game I would just close F@H and start it again when I was done.

Not complicated at all. All you have to do is download the text client, put it in your F@H directory, close the graphical client, and run the text client. And if you like, you can make the text client run as a service (more involved than just opening it up, but not too difficult). You can click the image in my sig and it will take you to the F@H Info To Know thread where you can find the link with instructions on how to run F@H as a service.

I run the text client as a service, but I still like to shut it down whenever I play games, it seems a little smoother to me. So, i placed a couple of batch files on my desktop, one to stop the service, and another to start it again. In case anyone is interested, the commands in the batch files are "net stop Folding" and "net start Folding". (assuming Folding is the name of the service).

Thats what I did as well, I had a BAT file that closed my Firewall, AVG, F@H and MSN that I would just double click before gaming, then another that opened them for when I was done.
