SETI sticky

What happened to it? Either it's gone, or I'm blind. I'm starting back up and I wanted to look at the PCM team page. Not that it matters, I don't think anyone here is still using it, except maybe a couple.

Actually, I just set up the BOINC client for the first time. I'm not sure if I have it right. I transferred my old account. I still shows me on the PCM team, but it doesn't seem to be pulling any WU's. It just says that it's "retrying" - to what? Download a WU?

Restickied. I can't help with your issue, I'm still using the classic SETI client.

I got it working, but I'll have to hold off yet again. I gotta get this northbridge problem fixed before I burn something up.

I've been using BOINC (you sure do like calling it bionic, don't you? ) for almost a year now. The Seti@Home project has had some hardware issues recently as they are moving things around in order to get ready for to move everybody over to BOINC; the problems people have had aren't releated to the BOINC software itself. Plus, the nice thing about BOINC is that you can attach to multiple projects; when there aren't any Seti work units available, I can crunch for another project so there are no wasted CPU cycles.

Meaning you can run F@H or SETI from BOINC? If that's what you mean, that would be nice.

The Folding@Home team is working on an app that will use BOINC software. I think it's still in the early beta phase though. I'm sure it will be coming eventually, however.
