Folding@Home : How to create desktop shortcut in Linux
I posted a while back wanting to know how to do this but no one here knew. Well I was messing around today and I figured out ho9w to do it. Now I did this on KDE so i don't know if these directions will work with Gnome or not. I'll be installing it soon and I'll post some directions here then.
Desktop Shortcut You'll need to modify the paths in part 3 and 4 to match the paths where you have your folding@home exe saved. 1. Right click on the desktop then Create New/File/Link to Application. 2. When the Properties window opens click on Application. 3. Next to Command type path to/FAH502-Linux.exe Example: /Home/User/Folding/FAH502-Linux.exe 4. Next, type next to "Work path" /home/user/Folding 5. Click Advance Options and a Window will open. Under "Terminal" mark "Run in terminal" and click OK. 6. Click on the General Tab and give your shortcut the name "Folding@Home". I think that's about it. If it doesn't work for you please let me know and I'll check my directions over again. |
