F@H only uses SPARE clock cycles. It will only use the CPU when nothing else needs it. When some other program needs the CPU, F@H will stop using clock cycles in a time unnoticeable to a human. So no difference there.

It does always use a certain amount of memory though, about 25MB (unless you choose to allow it to use large WUs), which it will still use no matter what else is also running. I wouldn't use F@H if you are running Windows XP with only 256MB of RAM, but if you have more than that, you won't notice any performance loss.

And if you try to run some games, the game will keep minimising itself until you close F@H. I've found it does that for me. Might just be me.

Yeah, thats happened to me a few times. Every time id try to play gta3, id have to close F@H before i can run it.

Neochivers: I sometimes do experience performance loss, but its only really evident in games. typically the frame rate tends to fluctuate periodically. I guess it boils down to system specs.

Simply tell her if she notices a drop in the speed of her computer that you will uninstall the program. She won't notice a difference because there is no difference.
