Question questions about this folding@home deal

1 what is it?
2 can I join in?
3 what do I need to do to join in?
4 what do I need to participate?

i now they are silly questions but i had to ask, for i have no idea.

1. Folding@Home is a computer program used to help cure different illnesses.

2. yes, we would love to have you as part of team 13761!

3. a computer and internet

4. install the program and let the computer do the rest.

Just my two cents, but if you do decide to join, go with the text console rather than the GUI version. The GUI client just likes to cause a few too many problems. And you can even make the text console run as a service if you like (link to instructions provided in LJ's link).

Agreed andy!

I tried the GUI on a machine once and had several problems with conflicts and it was somewhat unstable. I've had the text-only console running as a service for quite a while now on 4 machines and never have a problem. Plus, you don't even need to be logged in for it to fold!

We'd love to have you folding with us Ind-PC, and if you have further questions feel free to post again.
