how long does F@H take to load

I just installed folding at home, joined the PCM team, and it has been around 30 minutes saying 'loading' is this typical? I got a fast system, so I dont think thats the problem.

If you are on dial-up and getting your first core, it may take that long to down load. I'm on dial-up and some big WU take me 10 to 15 minutes to down load.

Since it is your first WU, you not only have to download the WU, but also a core. I currently have four cores downloaded (65, 78, 79, and 82) and they are 1.25MB, 2.21MB, 2.21MB, and 1.71MB respectively, not to mention the current WU which is 3.43MB.

It is also possible that you might be having some trouble making a connection to the F@H servers, which could also cause you to have a delay in the downloading of the core and WU.

Try checking your internet settings, and then in the client config, choose to use those settings. I think it says something like "use Internet Explorer settings".

Yeah I have it on internet explorer, but I dont know if it has anything to do with being in Argentina or what, but it either is attempting to connect to the server, or benchmarking, and when its benchmarking I cannot open up the F@H window.

Sorry for asking so many questions, I normally can fix most porblems like this myself.
Thanks again.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but you might try asking on the F@H Forums and see if they have any ideas. They have quite a few people there are very good at troubleshooting F@H problems.
