Somebody helpin' me?

Not sure how this is happening but when I checked my Folding stats today something is amiss. I have 11 machines running on my home network plus one at work and my son is running his under my Mystery_Folder name at his house. That's a total of 13 machines. However, my stats shows 14 machines in the last 7 days. Only two possibilities I can think of. One is that I forgot to uninstall F@H on one of the two new machines I sold in the last couple weeks or someone else has decided to contribute in my name. Anyone want to admit that you were just checkin' to see if I'm paying attention? Think I better check on the new ones and figure out what's going on. Hmmmm, maybe the Halloween goblins are out early!

That might be it. My 2.4 P4 has been giving me some trouble when running the F@H on start up. Crashes the video for some reason. So I changed to a manual shortcut to start the Folding program after things are up and running again after a reboot. Might have used the HT cpu for some WU's.

Well for me this explains the mystery points

http://forum.folding-community.org/v...13064&start=15

I did have a lot of missing points.

I stopped folding in July but I show to have 3400 points in August also

I, too, had a mystery machine show up on my list for a while. It was coincident with a re-install of XP on my son's machine. I thought maybe that was the reason. It has since dropped back to the machines I know about.

If you reinstall a client due to a complete OS install or add a rig the Stanford stats will see it as a different machine ID and will add it to the number that was already there until the 7 day or 50 day period has expired. Then the number of machines will drop back to normal. When I played around with running 3-4 clients on a HT P4 my numbers would bounce around.

Thanks lil Jimmie,
I've noticed something similar(?) when reformatting but never paid it much attention (Everything was always right when I finally checked again a few days later and the folding got done.) till now.
I'm going to check in at the F@H faq and post on the forum if necessary.
I'll post any answers/replies here.

Interesting...

I just saw this thread after doing a nuke & pave on my main system and went to have a look. Sure enough, I have an extra system showing up in my stats.

Yeah, I have a processor that pops up ever so often but no idea where it is at. Could be on my old college campus somewhere, lol.
