Choosing the size of my work units

Hi team I have 2 old rigs (systems #2 & #3 in sig) that I want to get folding. Can I designate the size and/or type of work units that run on them more specifically than the "greater than 5MB" option - the larger ones take far to long to be of any use. I snooped around in the forum and tried to look at the Useful Tips & Tricks but it looks like MaximumPC has killed the article. I believe I'm currently running the graphical client - is this a setting I could adjust in the text-only version?
Thanks.

I'm no expert but I'm running the graphical client on my older (PII and K6-2) machines too. Only setting I've changed is to check the "ignore deadlines" box in the Advanced tab. I don't believe there is any way to select which WU's your pc's work on. My PII often takes more than a week to complete a WU.

You want to select "Use timeless WUs" for ones that are older and therefore smaller.

Where is that option, Kov? I don't see it in the Configure options.

Think I found it. It's in the Advanced tab in the Deadlines section (bottom of window) - you have to select 'deadlineless' from the dropdown menu.

Edit: It appears that option is only available in the newer version of the software... I just re-downloaded and started the Win 98 version and it isn't there

Or if you're running the console, add the -config tag at the end of the target line to reconfigure the client. Select Yes when it asks about Changing Advanced Options. Then on Core Type select gah. The Genome@Home project no longer exists, but selecting that option assigns the deadlineless WUs for slower comps.

Excellent... thanks fulton. It doesn't look like things are as bad as I thought anyway. When I started up my first WU, the estimated end time was Dec 12 or something ridiculous like that. At the rate work is progressing, it'll finish up in about a week (which I believe is what you said in the first place PR).
