Foldin' For PCMech!

no more timless tinkers
my moms dual 500Mhz PIII system hasnt been able to connect to server .113 for awhile now. I just realized how long this problem had been going on and decided to try and find the cause of this. Turns out Stanford no longer has any timeless tinkers! I assume its party because a lot of AMD guys run tinkers because they get higher ppd than running normal units. I cant find anywhere where it says when the tinkers might be back so those of you running these could shut those systems down for the time being to save power. Hopfully they will be back soon.

All my old timers seem to be doing fine running Gromacs. Gbgromacs or Amber cores wu's. The loss of the timeless tinkers hasn't affected my output that I've noticed. What registry keys have you added?

On my moms, none, just the basic setup. I do have it set to only download timless units tho. I dont know if it would finish a normal unit in time. Your 233mhz system finishing them ok?

Yup, my 233, 266, AMD 900 and P3 850 are all doing fine. Here's the setup I follow:
http://www.hackaday.com/2005/09/13/h...competitively/ EMIII will report "timing" errors initially but simply double clicking the colored window clears the error and EMIII runs error free again until it finally finds the correct completion time. |
