Folding@Home Monitor Standby

I'm not 100% sure this is the correct forum, because there's no questions in here, but it's the most related to folding@home. Anyways, on to the question. I have a Core 2 Duo e6400, stock, no overclocks, pc in my sig. I have folding@home run on screensaver, but does it run while the monitor is in standby mode? Because I have my computer on all night on school days to wake me up and I think it should have more progress than it has so far if it has been running during monitor standby. So, the main bullet point of this presentation would be; does folding@home run during monitor standby mode?

Check this page on the Folding FAQ page. There's an area dedicated to running the screen saver. You really should consider running the Console Client though if you want to maximize your WU output.

I have thought the same thing (not for folding, but screen savers in general) and i would have to assume that it does run while in standby mode. The OS just sends a signal to the video card to stop sending out a signal. Your screensaver runs while the monitor is turned off so I would assume it runs while in standby mode. Note that I have never officially looked this up but I would assume its true.

One way to check for yourself would be to check the log file, see how much work is done then let the monitor go into standby for the night and check to see if any additional work was done durring the night.

I would also switch to the console version if i were you. There is no performance loss running folding 24/7. Some say there is a small amount while gamming, but i have never noticed anything. I run 24/7 even while gamming with zero problems.
