WU will not send
I have had a completed WU that remains in queue while others complete and are sent and counted, etc. This WU result appears to be very large. Has been complete since Feb 20.
I was wondering if maybe the particular server it is trying to connect to is down. But I do not know how to figure that out. FAH continues to attempt sending it periodically but cannot succeed. Any idea how I can get it to complete the process? Thanks and I hope to reach half million soon! |

if you look in one of the txt files it tell the server that WU is connected too. then search on google for a status on standfords folding servers and see the condition of that server.
i think you can do that at least, iv never tired it. |

dude is right. Look in your FAHlog.txt file for the server number. You can check server status online at the Stanford F@H site. Just click HERE.
WUs may stay in queue for quite some time, but I've never had one not make it back eventually. As long as you're downloading new work, you're in good shape.

if your running the console version then you can add the "-send all" flag to see if that helps any.

Thanks.
The server status is Accepting. Here is my txt for this issue. [11:18:42] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet) [11:18:42] + Could not connect to Work Server (results) [11:18:42] (171.65.103.106:8080) [11:18:42] - Error: Could not transmit unit 06 (completed February 20) to work server. [11:18:42] + Attempting to send results [11:19:14] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet) [11:19:14] + Could not connect to Work Server (results) [11:19:14] (171.65.103.100:8080) [11:19:14] Could not transmit unit 06 to Collection server; keeping in queue. Am running the console version as a service. I would try the flag but not sure how. How? |

Have you tried rebooting, skipper? Often times when I get a hanging WU, I reboot the pc and it goes thru. Don't know the reason why, just know it works most of the time.

Thanks for the reply.
I have tried rebooting. I have also tried stopping and starting the service several times - which has helped before when WU's get hung. This time, though, that doesn't seem to work either. Have shut down firewalls, etc. I have noticed it is a very large WU. Not sure what that might have to do with it. I only say this because when I do stop and start the service, my connection icon lights up showing exchange of data between my PC and internet. Stays active for a while, FAHlog posts nothing during the time, but eventually fails to send the WU. A real puzzle, this one. |

to use the -send all flag create a shortcut to the console application. right click the shortcut and view its properties, add " -send all" (without quotes and with a space before the dash) to the end of the target line. hit ok, then double click the shortcut. any time this shortcut is clicked the -send all flag will be used. this same method can be used for any flags.

You have to make sure the service has been stopped first, tho, right? What's the best way to do that? Use msconfig to uncheck it and keep it from starting up the next boot?
Are you using IE7? What you may need to do is run the -config flag, and then change your setting on Use_Internet_Explorer_Settings to NO. That for a while was causing intermittent hanging of some results on one of my boxen. If it's still hanging up, then give the project number and run/clone/gen. I'll post at folding forums to see if they can check on it. BTW, you can find the list of other usable flags HERE. |

you may need to stop the service first, i didnt think of that. i always right click my computer and click manage then click the services link and find the FAH service listed. right click it and select stop.

You can also do that by going to Start / Run / and type services.msc. Stop the service that way, make your shortcut changes, and then start it back up.
