Well I shot myself in the foot, One or the new boxes finished a SMP WU, So I decided to try tweaking the clock to see if I could bring completion time down to 24 hrs. vice 28
well I bumped the clock from 266 just a little up to 277 . while still in the bios screen it showed the increase from 2.13 to 2.22 g. Thats not much so I thought I was safe, Wrong answer Buck Wheat!! Everything went to ###x!! Hit the reset button to get back into the bios, put everythintg back the way it was. rebooted twice, still crap Powered down, unpluged the cord, let it sit for 30 min. powered up with the FC6 install DVD. Wiped the HD slick and re-installing from scratch. it's been running for about 15 min, currently downloading updates. Am keeping my fingers crossed, should probably sit on them to keep me out of trouble |

Ah, yes the temptation for more speed. I know it well. I did the same thing to a P4 folding machine a long time back. Decided to be happy with stock settings that are stable. The only oc'd machine I run is an AMD Mobile I oc'd as a project a couple years ago. Cut it back just a touch and she runs solid while Folding 24/7.

lesson learned.
