new processor, woo hoo!

Hey everyone,

Some good news, I got and installed a X2 4200+ today, a nice step up from my single core 3200. So, my production should go up a bit, also picked up a zalmon 9500 and am running at 29 Celcius!
Hopefully tonight I'll get some time to set up 2 sessions (i know i've read tutorials on how to do this, i'll poke around later).

ooooo can we say "Windows SMP Client"?? i've been having some problems with mine, but when it does work it gets much better ppd than 2 standard clients.

well I'm officially up and running with 2 clients. No SMP, i was going to install it but the F@H warning on the site scared me away! New processor and everything don't want to mess with instability issues if that's what it seems to cause.

I just want to run this by you guys (and gals) and see if you have any suggestions.

Now that I am running a dual core, what I did was create a second folder hosting another folding client. I now have...

C:\Program Files\F@Home 1st core
and
C:\Program Files\F@Home 2nd core

I set my EMIII to see the 2 different folders and so far it looks like it is seeing them. Also, I can't for the life of me find a EMIII update but I know there's one out there, I can't find their site anywhere. WHen I installed the new processor, the bios and windows recognized it right away and it's been somewhat smooth sailing since, is there anything I should check or update now that I have the dual core? I know these are general questions but that's why I come here! Thanks everyone and keep up the great folding.

Sounds like everything is set up properly. The EMIII site has been down for a while. It's all needing to be re-uploaded due to an isp change. As far as the protein update files are concerned, I haven't found them anywhere yet...

So HERE's the most recent protein file for now.

I think FahMon is the other big monitoring program. There's a list of a ton of third party apps listed at the folding-forums.
