Increasing PPD

Hey guys,
So I've noticed lately that my PPD is dropping very quickly. I haven't changed any settings on any of my machines and all 5 machines are still running. So what could be causing this? Is there anything I can do to increase my point production?

Thanks!

Have they just been working a bit slower? I notice that sometimes mine will work a little slower then other times. Usually close everything and it goes back up, and if not, then i just shut it down for about 10 minutes and restart, and she's back to working full speed.

I have noticed this as well, a few weeks ago (ish) I was receiving 500PPWU but then started getting 200~ recently.

Must just be a cycle of smaller proteins or something, I am not quite sure how it works.

I think Jimmy0 is probably right on. Seems like the proteins being assigned most often can have a positive or negative effect on point totals for good stretches of time.

Alot of it depends on the Wu tasks your system resouces, some are more memory dependant,
some hit the L2 cache harder.

a case in point is the 26XX series, on all of my E6400 boxes a 2605 takes about 28 hrs. while the 2609 &2611 come in in just under 40 hrs. They all have the same point value.

thats why I recommend a minimum of 2 gig. ram and as much L2 cache as you can get.

Not sure if this link has been posted lately, but it's a handy reference
