How well does a C2D fold today?

Hey all, Ive been out of the folding scene for quite some time, last I saw the core 2 duo was pretty much top dog as far as folding and ppd. How does it fair today? Something like a E6550...

I ask because I recently got a new job as a systems specialist. The company I work for has a stack of about 15-20 old Dell desktops sitting in a storage room. With permission I would like to set these up as a folding farm and get back in the scene. How well would they fold and what would be the best config?

Note: Since I am new to this company, I dont want to step on anyones toes or strech my legs too much so this is not going to happen over night. At this point it is just a simple thought in my head.

A mid-range C2D will spend maybe a little more than half a day on one unit.

Hm, well it turns out 2 of the systems are C2D and the remaining are P4's with HT... Will a P4 even finish a wu before the deadline? Whats the min specs for folding now?

I have a E8400 and a E5200 folding - they do a decent job. I'm not using SMP, I'm running 2 separate console clients on each one.

I dunno if the old P4's would be worth the electric use.

I'd could use a P4 as a basic surfing machine, but probably not as a folder.

I've got a Pentium D 820 2.8ghz making just under 500 ppd.
I'd think a E6550 would pull down about 1,000 ppd.

PPD is WU-dependent. The ones my 2 machines are working on right now are only in the 200's per core. Before bonus points, I've seen close to 800 per core. The E5200 surprisingly is not much slower than the E8400, maybe 10%.

I was talking with the bonus... lol.
That Pentium D is a dog, but I'm here on this forum with it.

My main folding comp is a lot better than this web surfing rig.
It's a budget build FX-4100 with a GTX 460 right now cranked up to 900mhz.
We will see how it holds up and may even up it a little.
