Anybody got any skinny on the distributed computing project that is in the news? Anthrax cure. How intrusive to your system are these background proggies?

I use the UD agent and have had no problems at all. The process that it uses is given the lowest priority therefore any other programs I have found have had no performance drop. However if you check your CPU usage it will be constantly 100%.
UD also have a cancer research project and to be quite honest I think this is a bit better cause than the Anthrax one (alot more people die of cancer) but there is an option to contribute to both if you want. |
