Another new site, and just the one I was looking for. I have been using seti for about a week or so. Loading it on all the computers I get my hands on, three on my name.
two p133 w/32M doing about 10MF at 11 cpu/Flp. The P3 450 w/128M, I had a time getting going, it was running terrible and I didnt realize it until I starting running set@home on it. It was about 60% finished after 113 hours. Finally took care of the spool32.exe file that was hogging the cpu time and now is it running 48Mflops at an eff. of 10.Does a unit in about 10 hours. It is using 76% of the CPU ( the spooler is still using 18%) I am using a program called Taskinfo2000. I found it on the setispy site. Take a look at it it has amazing information about your system and resources! Happy Hunting, boys and girls ![]() Here you go..http://www.iarsn.com/ [Edited by Jomama on 09-07-2000 at 11:19 PM]

I had not even thought about that, but you are right...You found ways to help your computer run better looking to speed up seti....The thing is, after you get your system running seti really good, then everything else seems to run better...
BTW, Jomama if you are not in a group yet, feel free to Join ours....For now the link is in my sig below...Happy Hunting....

Hows this:
http://www.iarsn.com/ for Task2000. or others here http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy/ Oh well, I tried to overlay the url with "here" but it doesnt work! How do you do that? I am still having trouble with the "spool32.exe" file. If I dont set an "idle" priority to it in Task2000, it runs at 85%. From a fresh boot! Good luck! |
