OK People here's the problem I have: Iv'e got 2 pcs networked both access the net thru a cable modem. I have set on both pcs, one i just copied the seti installer and one was downloaded. both are crunching, but the only one that shows up on the stats page is main pc. they say that i get credit for both, which should be around 50 results, but only show 23? what am i doing wrong? any thoughts?
btw both pcs have the same account set up for seti??

seti spy shows that all the info on account is the same

It does not sound as if you have done anything wrong. I set up programs on my home lan the same way. Did you arrive at the number of completed workunits for each machine from seti log?
Try not to become too frustrated-byte will ck in shortly and be able to fix ya right up. Just keep on crunching!

Couple questions- are ya using a add-on called seti spy?
What processor are these machines using?

I don't remember if you will have a completion log in your seti@home folder without having setispy. Ck. for the log anyway on each machine and see what it says.

BTW- All machines running for the same e-mail address (account) will simply show the total workunits turned in for that account-not for that machine.
You have to ck seti log to see what each individual machine is doing.

Open windows explorer to the seti folder. There you will find a log file that is labeled seti spy. Open it with wordpad, it will give you history on every workunit that has been worked since seti spy was installed.
BTW you have a lot of crunching power with those two processors, especially if you are running with the screen blanked.

Sorry for the delay, been working on my car...I need a 180 dollar part.Anyway I sent the following as a PM before I saw this...I answered PM's first tonight..However I have something to add...I think I understand your problem.

Here is the added part

********************
Example if you are running one machine...say you get 20 units complete...Then you add another machine, when it downloads a work unit, it grabs your total stats...So it start with 20.
Then machine A turns in one more unit...
now machine A show 21 while machine B shows 20
Then machine B turns in a Unit it now Shows 22.

This gets real wild when you have even more machine running and even more wild with some fast machine with slow machines.

So you can't add the totals on each machine together and believe that is your total...

That is how I understood what you have done, I could be wrong, so if I miss understood let me know...

End of adding*****************The following is the PM i had sent

You did use the same email address right?

I run in on serval computers and get all my results..

goto lost password, get your password and then edit you account. you could have accidently put in the wrong email on some of your machine...With seti spy goto each machine and check user stats, make sure each computer say you are in Alf Hunters and by clicking on your name it goes to your personal seti page...

are all your computer using the following email address

danzigrules@home.com

I messed up and used my hotmail on some and that is why you see vontar with 12 units....I can't join them to my main account, that that one is just sitting their because of the fact it has 12 units done....

I hope this helps...

so check each computer with seti spy....

Phil B, thanks for the vote of confidence....I do what I can. I have been running it off and on for a year so i have learned a few ticks...

BTW, i think i have a friend that is going to start running some units with an Athlon 600. That should be nice. 512 k cache. I know that isn't on die, but still that will be fast.....

I have added a tips section to the Alf hunter page so if you have any to add follow the email link on that page...

Lot's of confidence in ya. And thanks for running this thing, I like crunching here. My problem is when I try to help folks I just get them more confused.
Good to hear about the big iron coming on board. I got another on line today btw. Not so big though, it's a p2450.
I hear you have a 286 collecting dust, put it to work, every little bit helps!
