tonight after running flawlessly sence 9-11-00, setti completed unit no. 45 and connected to internet to transfer the data and came up with a fatal error no. 1 and then lost all data, I could do nothing with it and had to remove it from my system, I may not put it back on. loosing the work groups is no fun at all.
ok, I did reinstall it, but it will not let me connect under my e-mail address as before, says no record found, tried to set new account and says file not found, guess it's broken. [Edited by bailey on 09-25-2000 at 12:07 AM] |

I had something very close to that happen to me...I think one of the servers that sends the data was down. I had to uninstall and delete the folder.
Do you have more then one email address... I sent you a PM that lists the email address you used with seti at home...Just in case...

no, I have the one and only e-mail address, and no I did not receive any mail from you yet, yes I guess one of the servers were down, maby I'm feeding the completed work groups to them too fast and they can't handel it all. as soon as I can afford another cpu tike this one and some ram, I will have two systems like this one running 24/7, should give me about twice as many per day, plaese forgive me, I tend to get a bad attatude when something goes wrong, I realy thought I had lost the number of compleated units when thay said they did not have any record of my logon in their database, they sent me a notice that theit database was overloaded and shut down, was up and running this morning ok and I did not lose anything. doing #45 right now. and am happy again got to get that picture thingee setup on mine. I had the same problem yesterday. The old 133 kept getting the fatal error 1 everytime it would try to send. Then it would just shut down. I was a little concerned until the 450 tried to send its data and the same thing happened. So I played some cards at pogo.com and them went to bed.
This am at work a unit was finished on that comp so it sent and everything was OK. Came home and restarted both SETIs and all is cool. So much data to collect i guess, it is inevitable. I should add that to my sig. "I have survived another SETI crash" Bailey, you should know by now that when things start going wrong, its time for a break. A pause to reflect. If that doesnt work Then see Bytes ComputerBash page! BTW I have tried unsuccessfully to load the program at Parabond. So screw 'em.
