Its only going to get harder to move up from here! I thought I would have 4 computers running F@H, but my fourth decided that it wanted to kill a video card this weekend. Oh well.
Anyway, how does Timaaay (TimPoet?) have a credit of 1? Lowest I could find was 5! Just curious. |

sorry for the double post

This is the project description: A completely new folding target - this is a subdomain of the ribosoal protein L9. The Raleigh group at SUNY Stonybrook has accumulated a great deal of experimental data on this system. (And Timmaaay accumulated the least amount of experimental data )But never fear, soon I will have another 24! Last edited by TimPoet; 08-18-2003 at 10:27 PM. |

I think I goofed... I used my PCMech user name (Kov-Ice) on Folding, but none of my stats are showing up on the team list. Then I read closer and realized user names may only use letters, numbers, or the underscore. I changed to Kov_Ice, so hopefully my work will count for us now. How did Timmaaay! with an exclamation show on the list? Just wondering...

So should my orig. name work? If so, I should change back because I've already completed one 400 protein and most of another...

I really don't know how it happened. I don't actually remember the act of signing up and choosing my user name.

Your user name is chosen on the installation. It grabs your computer name or the name you last used when you installed something. You can change it on install or go to configure, and on the user tab set the user name.
On a side note, my home PC is working on a 2500 frame WU! The stats page says its only supposed to be a 100 frame WU. Anyone ever see this before? |

We're doing great guys! We now have 25 active computers contributing to the PcMech.com Folding@Home Team!!!
We're currently ranked 1244th!!! We're moving up! (or down depending on which way you look at it). Happy Folding! |

OK, for naming purposes, the dash in my original user name must not have been acceptable... When I changed to Kov_Ice using the underscore, my stats showed up the next time the Folding site updated (including credit for both WUs I had gotten under the first name).
Question - Is there a way to get more than one work packet lined up in your queue? |

Sorry, I don't think there is a way to download more than 1 WU to work on.

How come I can't find the Console executable file? I've searched for FAH3console.exe with the Find Files function to no avail.
Any clues? Edit: Nevermind, I realize the truth now. Last edited by TimPoet; 08-20-2003 at 09:22 PM. |

I don't get it... I folded a 250 unit protein in about 4 days powered on from 7am to 10pm but a 2500 protein is folding at the same rate!!! Moreover, it jumps 25 every hour or so... interesting

An Article on how Folding@Home affects your system's performance:
http://www.tech-report.com/etc/2002q...t/index.x?pg=1 I reccomend reading the first page and then skipping ahead to the Conclusion section....the middle pages are quite boreing. If you don't want to read it, the study says that: "Quite simply, the impact of running Folding@Home in the background is negligible." |
