Switch from screensaver to console
I set up folding using the screensaver option. No real reason. How would I change from the part-time folding screensaver to full-time console (or graphical). I leave things running 24/7 anyway, so why not?

The graphic version folds in the background all the time, not just when the screensaver is on. Screensaver is just decorative. If you want the text-only console version, you should be able to uninstall the graphic version and install the console into the same folder. It should pick up where you left off (but back-up that folder before hand anyways...).

Thank you for the reply. I currently have the screensaver version running.
I have a 'Folding@Home Screensaver' folder in two places. One is at C:\Program Files\Folding@Home Screensaver\Work folder, logs, docs, etc. The other is C:\Documents and Settings\skipper\Start Menu\Programs\Folding@Home\uninstall, faq, readme. Not sure what to save, uninstall, etc. Ideas? |

You would just uninstall the screensaver program, then drop the FAHconsole into the folder with the work/data logs and run it from there. Back up the work folder just in case, but it should pick up where you left off. Best bet may be to just wait until you complete a WU, then uninstall old / install new so as not to lose any work. HTH.
