server problems?
i have 2 WU now sitting on queue from the server 171.64.122.143:80 all other WU from other servers come and go fine but these will download but not upload. the one has been sitting there since feb. 10 and the other since feb. 22
is anyone else having problems with this server??

I'm not having any problems with any of the servers, but I'd have to dig thru a heap of logs to see if I have even uploaded to that one server.
According to the F@H server stats that one is online and is set to assign & accept http://folding.stanford.edu/serverstat.html http://folding.stanford.edu/logs/171...2.143.log.html

yeah i know, i have checked the server stats like 500 times lol and it says everything is ok on that end but that is the only one that will not upload.
the past week i have even got online (i'm on dial-up) and left it on all night hoping it would decide to upload but it hasn't.

It may be the WU has been uploaded and it's just a fluke that the WU is still showing in queue.

yeah, but nearly everytime i open the display (graphical version) it has either "trying to connect to server" or "could not connect to work server (results)"

Can you ping the server from the computer? I ran into a problem a while back with the graphical version on my daughters old pc in which I got a simular error and no matter what I did it would not send the unit (me thinks the TCP/IP stack was corrupt) in which I couldn't even use a ping command to any IP addy. Tried a repair of IE and repair of the OS and nothing. I had to completly reinstall the OS and went with the text client on her new build after that.

i can try to ping it. i think i know how.... Start > Run > "command" > "ping 'ip address here'" right??

ok well i did that, but if i typed the port number in it wouldn't work. i added an attachment of the dos screen. i guess it pinged ok. lol
it doesn't say anything about any errors so thats good.... |

no, i was going to if i didn't get anywhere on here. i'll search it tomorrow. its 12:30AM here, i'm going to bed. maybe someone will read this and know how to fix it by morning. thanks for the help lil jimmie!!! night.

Try this- shut down the F@H client then reboot, once rebooted with the client not running connect to the internet with IE then start the client. If you have the client set to run upon startup change it before rebooting.

well i tried that twice and still no luck. i think i see what you were trying to do tho, make it connect and send the results.
any other ideas? if not i'll goto the F@H forums and ask for help there. thanks a bunch tho jimmie!! |

Had the same problem with one instance not being able to connect to the work server. The other instance working fine.
Rebooted the pc twice, reset the affinity and now everything A-OK. Carl |
