Console Readouts
I have the console version of F@H running on two seperate machines now (switched from the gui). I noticed something interesting...
The two console windows I have on this machine (P4) displayed progress (written files) as "Completed X steps out of Y steps (Z)". It writes that for increment increases of 2500 or 5000. The console on the other machine simply displays progress each time a frame is completed. Other small differences: the latter console reports tell me the number of frames completed when I close and open the program (refresh) under the protein name. The former consoles do not. Other differences in displayed text are noticable (where the protein name is found, etc). Any idea why the console behaves differently on each machine? Same OS. Same installer used to install F@H; I sent it right over the network. Same configuration settings (aside assigning a different machine ID for the second console on this machine). Just find it odd (not the first thing I've found strange about the project). |

One is a gromac or double gromac WU (steps) and the other is a tinker WU (frames)

There is a flag you can add into the command line for the console. If you type -verbosity there, it will then give you more detailed info in the log file or readout. I doubt it, but is it possible you added that to one of the clients when you were configuring them?

No, I just didn't notice that you get different read-outs from gromac and tinker. While I'm here though...
How do I get into the configuration on the console version since the command "- Ask before connecting: No" is written in? Without reinstalling that is; if possible. |

To change the settings on the console go to the properties of the shortcut and add -config by itself and restart the client
Sample To config - X:\Folding2\FAH4Console.exe -config Once the config is finished replace the flags you had prior to the config and apply Last edited by lil Jimmie; 05-27-2004 at 02:09 AM. |
