I had a P41.3GHz with 128Mhz before it could play games like WC3 and BF1942 ok, didint have spectacular framerates but it worked...then i installed norton2k3, dont think i was ever able to play any other game than SC on that thing without having 1-3FPS. Norton is definatly not for gamers.

Turn Norton off if you're playing games... it uses up so much CPU that it's not worth using

Is using a different anti-virus altogether an option? I recommend NOD32, Its very good, PCWorld rated it as the hightest antivirus program, and it uses less system resources than Norton.

Use AVG. It uses very little resources.

Samie here, although I don't leave it running in the background when I'm gaming. I don't mean to stray off-topic here, but what with the Free version of ZoneAlarm, AVG, SpyBot S&D and Ad-Aware, I don't pay a penny to protect my system. I don't know why anyone would ever want to.

I use Norton '03 for gaming all the time and it works fine. But I would recommend Avast! Antivirus.

Ive had good luck with Norton Antivirus, but the rest of the Internet Security suite just absolutely blows. Get ZoneAlarm, you'll be much happier.
