Need For Speed Underground

I just finaly got around to getting a copy of NFSU. So far, it's a fun game. It's not quite what I've come to expect from a NFS series game, in the form of exotic cars and such, but it's still fun.

The only thing I wonder about is that I'm now racing against cars in underground mode that I can't get yet. What's up with that? How many points do you have to get before you start to get some hotter cars?

Graphics are pretty darn good for a car game.

Phisics are pretty on target, and crashes are awesome.

What!? No cops! That sucks.

No dammage to cars. Lame.

I played the demo. I thought it was OK. I'm not too crazy about ricers though. They need to make a game like that with good ol' muscle cars.

I have it and my only disapointment is the lack of tracks, instead of working on Underground 2 they should have released an expansion pack. Online is a big upset too, everytime ya finish a race, drag or sprint you have to reconnect? what the? and if you expect to win anything online ,forget about it, most players have finished the game and have unlocked super mods . makes me want to reinstall it for another thrill.

cheers

I think Underground 2 is gonna stink, for one major reason. Up till this point, NFS has been something that anyone in the family can play. Any of the kids can put it in and run it, no big deal. With NFS 2, they have decided to get into the scantily clad sexy girl thing, and why? I don't think they would sell fewer game without it. Heck, they might sell more if everyone could play it without a second thought as to who might walk into the room during a cut scene. I'm a little disgusted over this. NFSU2 looks like a great game otherwise.

Needless to say, it was disappointing. One thing that really bugged me was listening to the same music over and over. But overall, it wasn't worth my time spending as little time with it as I did. Unless you're a hardcore fan of these types of games, it really is not the best that's out there.

Its ok, but not too deep. Those like 2fast 2 furious, will like this. I wish they would let customs desgins on the cars. Music, some were great, some were boring. Cars, ok, but when you reach the top, everyone's driving a skyline gt R. Maybe some like Acura. No fun fighting the same car.
Gameplay wears down fast, very fast. After the first four times on each type of challange, you get boring. Only to complete the 111 challanges. AI was ok, but I wish the difficulty could be increase. On hard level, I had to play drift courses 2,3 times to win. The rest was easy.
The NFS I enjoyed most was NFS2, & NFS2SE.

Some music was great, really enjoyed it, but some of it was terrible.
The custom designs are lame, and you can't do your own.
Agreed about everyone driving the GTR, I'm one of the few who drives anything else (a Miata hahahaha)
Drift is easy, stack the skids together
But it was frustrating how easily they could catch you in a race sometimes

That's because the game is programmed so that they can "catch up" even when you already lapped them.

It's a good game and fun to play..
I'm nnot a big fan of racing online, but I would be interested in LAN play which isn't supported.
the graphics are great, and is just a fun game to kill a few hours with.

That "catch up" thing can be turned off in the options. Another thing about it that was a little lame: They really bragged this game up cuz of all the aftermarket parts that you where supposed to be able to choose from, and the 7mill + possible configurations. Then you start to play the game only to find out that all the mods are the same package deal, and the only thing you can change is the brand name. There is no other effect at all! This was a bit miss leading of EA.
