I'm looking for speakers that I can put in my car and attach to a CD/MP3 player via the headphone jack...I got an old car to upgrading the system in there is worthless...she'll be dead in 6 months anyway.
either Battery or Cig. Lighter Adapter Powered is fine. |

These are commonly found at Wal Mart or Radio Shack. They're merely "bookshelf" speakers for listening to your CD player. Most are both AC adapter or battery powered and you could probably fabricate a make-shift hanger of some sort out of sheet metal or coat hangers or the like and some screws.
Only downside I can think of is finding a cigarette lighter adapter that will work with them, and generally they eat batteries like they're going out of style.

It's easier to buy a car amplifier (and speakers of course) and connect it to the car battery. It looks like a lot of trouble, but it usually takes an hour or two to install the thing. + you can take it with you when you have a new car.
