My steam = BIG PROBLEMS THAT NEED FIXING
ok, my computer was fine when i left for hawaii on june 15th, and when i returned on the 23rd, my steam would not connect to the internet.
I thought this was a problem, because my internet was fine and my aim and internet explorer both worked, and everything else that needs internet worked fine until this week. So i completely un-installed, and then i installed it and i got this weird message saying... "Steam.exe (main exception): Unable to find Steam.dll entry point SteamStartEngine" After i saw this, i downloaded the steam client with no games on it already (its called SteamInstall.exe) and I installed that one after numerous uninstall/install of the older "SteamInstall_cs" file I had installed the whole time before this. Now, when i start steam for the first time after installing "SteamInstall.exe", it starts updating up untill about 30% and then it stops, saying "Steam - Updating - 0% complete" Cannot Contact the steam network, please try later" If anyone has had this problem before, please tell me how to fix it. as i said before, my internet is fine. i have dsl if that means anything Thanks, Bryan |

Maybe steam is down...or maybe your firewall is preventing it from accessing the internet. It sounds like the original problem was due to you not having the updated version. Now it seems it tries to contact its client and your pc isnt letting it reach out to the net. Go into your firewall and make sure Steam is checked to be allowed access to the internet.
If this doesn't help then maybe the steam servers are down. |
