Is this a good score for this system?

Hey I was wondering whether 4737 is a good score on 3DMark03 for the system listed in my signature.

What are ways that I can help increase this score other than overclocking?

hmm I think there might be something wrong, because I don't even have an Athlon 64 and my score is higher than that. That doesn't seem right. I wonder if your 9800 Pro is really 256 bit, you might want to check on that just in case. Interesting...

I wonder if 3D Mark has even support for 64 bit CPUs. If it doesn't you won't see any improvement coming from your CPU, and the same thing will be true for 99% of the games and the software out there. 64 bit processing does need to be supported, it won't make things faster per se.

No I know I have the 256 bit version of the Radeon 9800 Pro. I made extra sure that I bought the right one.
How can I increase these scores?

What drivers are you using? Keep trying different drivers to see which one gets you an improved score.

That seems slow...

I'm running a P4 2.4 O/Ced to 2.53 (533fsb)

512mb DDR 333 Memory

128mb MSI Geforce FX5900XT (No Overclock)

On the 3DMark03 Benchmark i get 4999 points.

Your score therefore does seem low as your graphics card and proccesor are faster than mine and you have twice the memory.

I Had problems when i first got my graphics card as i was getting a 3dmark2001se score of 9900. I posted a query on here and someone suggested that i update my motherboard drivers, this made all the difference boosting my score to 12470!

So I'd try and update your Mobo Drivers aswell as your graphics card drivers, and make sure you free you memory before running 3dmark.

You should use the compare scores feature at futuremark to see more exactly.
