registering a game

I got medal of honor allied assault and i tried registering the game so i could play online. I went through the process and then sent it through the internet to register. it said being processed at electronic arts or something like that. So far i haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail or anything and i still can't play online. Anybody know anything that could help me?

You don't need to register in order to play online. I never registered. I have never registered any piece of software. Just start the game, go to multiplayer, click join game, then internet game.

Some games do check for CD keys when you go online, and the servers won't allow two players with the same key to play at the same time.

Many times the only thing you would receive back would be a thank you or some junk mail.

I play a few games online often and have played several in the past. The only ones that "force" a registration are games that you download. Normally (as nuke pointed out) the CD keys are used for verification.

Well I know that is not the case with Medal of Honor. I can play it on both of my computers on the same server at the same time without a problem. Call of Duty on the other hand does check for CD keys and sometimes it seems to forget what it is forcing me to type it in again. That gets aggrevating.

i have allied assault and i can play online without registering. I have also played on a network, both cd's being used (1 and 2). the server timed out message is happening because you are joining a 1.11 server (a version higher than yours). download the patch and try it again.

btw, i also know that half-life dosent allow the use of a cd key twice at the same time.
