Exclamation DOOM3 has gone gold

Quote:
Yes, this is the official word that DOOM 3 has been code released and has been approved for manufacturing! It won't be long now until the anticipation ends and the PH34R begins ;-) We literally just hung up with Activision and have confirmed that our latest release candidate has been mutually approved and is finally GOLD. Thanks to everyone for their patience (yeah right! =) and for everyone at id, Activision and our numerous partners for helping us create what I believe is absolutely the best game we have ever made.

So, the next question is release dates. Retailers in the States will be allowed to pick up games starting at 12:01 AM on August 3rd. The official street date is actually August 5th in the U.S.A., but some of your favorite stores will probably have it early for those of you who have to have it first. Check with your local retailer for that information.

I'm a little curious, and I haven't really been paying attention to the whole Doom situation. Will it run on a 9800 Pro?

I sure hope so, as that's what I upgraded to to play the "newer" games with!

Ya peopl are saying that the 9800 Pro will barely run Doom 3, I find that as a bunch of bs, the card is too pwoerful for it to barely run a current game, plus my friend ran the alpha version on his 9000 Pro on high detail.

Yeah, it will definately play with a 9800 pro it can't need more than 128mb on your video card to run it, because the only higher option would be 256mb and no games need anything that big. Plus, the 9800 pro is one of the highest performance cards out there other than that new x800.

It will probably play on almost any card. The catch is in the game setting have to be adjusted. The real question is: what cards can it run on with all the settings turned all the way up?

My same thoughts, Force. I am gonna be depressed if I am unable to run it at full detail with all the eye candy on.

I am not getting the game until next year, though, when its price drops to 25 bucks.

No you wont. Youll get it the same time me and Force get it and we'll have a blast dominating the multiplayer portion. Thats if Force upgrades his service thought.

eh, halo's MP isn't all that great. You never notice how slowly the characters move around until you play MP.

Now, UT on the other hand...
