problem with the video card

I have a GeForceFX 5200 256MB graphic card (i know it's not the best...)
and here's the problem:
this is my first time building a PC, everything worked out alright, and all the drivers are installed, but everytime i play with Rise of Nation, the graphics starts to glitch... This only happens when i play Rise of Nation, ive tried other games and demos and there are no problem with the graphics.

the graphic card is set on default (nothin was changed since the driver was installed.

so can anyone tell me whether the glitch is the game's problem or is the graphic card unstable or somthing

Welcome to PC Mech forums

It would potentially be that the FX5200 cannot handle the Rise of Nations - have you tried more demanding games? FX5200 as you've mentioned, isn't exactly the best for games.

what games would u recommend testing the card with?



here is a list of som games i own, hopefully the FX5200 can work with them:
Call of Duty
Age of Empires
Halo
Rise of Nation (the problem)
Rainbow 6

which one of these would be better to test the card with?

Halo would be a graphically demanding game - see what you get there.

i just found out that my halo disc has gone missing..... so i guess i'll test the card with rainbow 6 3

Ranbow 6 isn't all that demanding, but it's probably the most demanding one you listed. You aren't going to stress out your video card with it.

Rise of Nations seems to be a game that many video cards struggle with... in my experience it seems to be the first indicator that your card can't handle the demands.
