Why Upgrade to DX9C?
Hey all,
I was wondering, what are the benefits of upgrading to DirectX 9C from 9B? Will it improve gaming performance? What is it going to do for me? Thanks, ~sd |

From my understanding it will help will FarCry and the latest patch 1.2, but that patch has been pulled b/c ATI's poor performance. Besides that, only D3 if it asks for it.

Do the latest video cards even support DX 9.0C? or is it just DX 9.0A?

I installed DX9C, there was no performance increase that I could discern.

Thanks Force, I wasn't quite sure about D3 and I haven't bought it to see either. But mainly, if a game asks for a certain version of DX is when I install it.

It could have been just bug fixes. Not any real performance enhancements.
