CHAINTECH nVIDIA GeForce FX5700LE

Is the CHAINTECH nVIDIA GeForce FX5700LE a good card? I was thinking of upgrading from my gainward 64mb ti4200. Good idea or bad? I just want something that will run far cry and doom 3 in better settings then low.

I'd say stay with the GeForce4 Ti4200. As far as I can see, you will see minor increases in performance. To run both those games better, I'd recommend reaching to the Radeon 9800 Pro or the GeForce 6800...which are both quite a jump.

Hope that helps,
kram

i had the Ti4200 for a while and it was a AWESOME card....but it was in my dell w/ 1.8ghz P4 and 512 RAM....now i have the 5700 256 bit (not the LE version) and it ROCKS MORE!!!! it may be the 2.8 processor and 400mhz ram....but ill tell ya i run doom 3 on high at 1024*768 no problems.....just my opinion

I guess that would really depend on your budget. I think that the Radeon 9600 XT VPUs are good bang for the buck right now - 130 USD is as low as it's ever been. Radeon 9800 Pro though, is still almost undeniably shows great performance for its price showing itself as the best "bang for the buck" card out there.
