Doom 3 - sending for reinforcements (spoilers if you haven't finished the game)
In the mission where you are told to send a transmission from the satilite control center, you have the option of sending the call to the fleet or canceling. Did any of you try canceling? Is there an alternate ending if you do so?

I canceled it. Don't know if it changes the game or not. I'll go back to one of my saved games and I won't cancel it, then I'll let ya'll know if it changes anything.

Unfortunately I sent the transmission as well Force, I finally finished the game last night, now I am going to go back to the save point before there and cancel it and see how it goes. You say you canceled it, Jeradln, did you finish the game that way?

nah.. I didn't finish the game yet, but I did cancel the transmission. I got confused at that part b/c the one dude tells you to cancel it, then when you do and walk out of the room the other dude comes over your radio and yells at ya for disobeying a direct order. Their voices both sound the same, so it was kinda interesting.
Right now I'm a little past where you get introduced to the skeleton dudes that throw rockets at you. |

Went back and replayed from my save game, if you cancel the transmission the guy (swan??) says good job, join him in "some room" (forget which one) to help defeat the creatures. After a few more levels, when you go into the little room and the door locks and he comes on the monitor(s) and starts talking to you (it's the level where you have to activiate some pumps or something, sorry don't remember the names too well
), telling you that you won't survive, he says he notified the fleet anyway so that they can take the ships back to earth. What a crock, same ending either way, same levels, just makes ya think you're going to meet up with him for a few minutes, then bam, everything back to normal.

Ah well. So much for being dynamic. Guess that kills the replay value
