Issues with Halo PC.

I recently bought Halo PC. I installed it on my desktop system running Windows 2000 and it plays fine. I was able to install it on my laptop but it won't play. I go to open up Halo, get the slash screen, hear activity in the DVD Combo Drive, then activity then stops and I get a message Titled "Cannot locate the Halo CD-ROM" ->"Please eject and re-insert the Halo CD-Rom, select OK and restart application". I reformated last night, ran windows update, updated my drivers and still get the same message. Any ideas? It's a Mas.hita DVD-Ram UJ811 Drive. Thanks for the help.

Try testing the drive with another CD to see if it works.

it might be because its a DVD-RAM drive and not a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM. a DVD-RAM is primarily a storage device, im pretty sure a DVD-RAM has a different file format than a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. i have no experience with DVD-RAM...just my theory though.

I was able to install and run AvP 2 with no problems. Call of Duty gives me the same problem. The drive installs and runs other CD's and DVD's fine. I can acess the drive and install, it just won't play. It has me baffled. Thanks for the response guys, I appreciate it.
