Counter-Strike source beta
Since the ppl at valve wanted to beta test the HL2 engine but didint want ppl to actually play it (if you ask me they are just showing it off so more ppl buy HL2 and not really testing for bugs) they remade CS to play on the HL2 engine. They made 2 character models and the map de_dust. Its amasing! Only people with steam and either CS:CZ or the ATI HL2 deal can play it though. I took a couple of screenshots for those who cant play it. Some didint comme out well though.

soo buggy wow. im surprised they changed the gameplay so much too, its like learning a whole new game. models are still stupid looking, they need to see a chiropracter to fix their hunchback.
love the new flash effect tho. gun models look aweful. i could go on for days... needless to say they have a lot to work on still IMO |

I just played it myself. The only thing cool about it is the flash effect and its pretty. IMHO they should have stuc with the character models from CZ. They are screwing to much with a good thing. They need to just update CZ to the HL2 engine.

I have the HL2 thing from buying the video card, but I don't know how to get the Source Beta. I looked on Steampowered.com, but I didn't find it. How do you get it? BTW, your link no longer works. If you could post another Screen Shot, or email me one. Thanks.

OK, either I am blind or it is just not there. Is it in the "Play Games" or "Browse Games" and is the title "Counter Strike Source Beta"? I can't locate it. On my play games menu it says:
Coming Soon: HL2 Just Released: Condition Zero My Games: CS, HL, etc. No CS source beta. |

I pre-loaded it 2 days before it came out and it was in comming soon. When it came out then in was in my games. I was going to ask you if you were using the ATI HL2 key but only those people can get the HL2 preload (i think) so it should be there.

I figured it out. My friend had a HL2 key, and the source beta, so I found out that the way you do it is go to Browse Games, then click on register a CD-Key you already have. I did this, and it showed up.
