I have an older Asus P5A-B MB, K6/2 -350 with an AGP. Everything was stable with my old Matrox G200 8MB AGP videocard when I built it. After about a year of getting my ass kicked on the internet in HL and CS by people with 32 and 64 MG videocards, I decided it was time to pony up. I got a Geforce 2. According to the requirements I need an AGP 2.0. Not really paying attention I assumed AGP 2x was the same thing so I bought it. On boot up and very often during games and plain old computing, I would get lock ups. I went to Asus website and found my AGP to be only 1.0 in some really obscure section of the fine print. While surfing for a new MB (I am going to build a Thunderbird) I could not find anyone who rated their AGP with 1.0 or 2.0. As most people here in PCMech don't seem to have too many problems with the newer videocards can I assume newer MBs are probably AGP 2.0?
