DOS Emulator
Hi all,
Hmm... this is a thoughie. I want to play an ancient dos game - Colonization. If I go to start-> run-> mps-> colonize-> colonize.bat it runs, but with no sound. I downloaded DOSBox emulator, and it runs the intro with sound, but does not completely load the game- it hangs after the intro. So, my question is, is there any way to run Colonization without an emulator and with sound? Are there any other emulators u can reccomend? Thanks, ~sd |

I use VDMSound with no problems. Try compatibility mode.

Hmmm... it seems as though it works now. Instead of right-clicking on the executable and clicking "Run With VDMS", I launched the command prompt and manually activated the drivers by typing in "dosdrv". (All of this is strange because the readme file says to do it the other way!) Now, after activating the drivers manually it works.
Wow, I'm amazed I figured this one out myself! Thanks, ~sd btw, I am running WinXP Home |
