splat FarCry becomes Choppy & Stalls @ 600x800

Hello,
My other tower is slowly becoming a light gamer. But it has issues.
ASUS P4B533-E Mobo
P4 2.4Gig CPU
768mb PC2700 Ram
160 Gig WD Hdd
ATI 128mb AGP (4x mode Mobo doesn't support 8x)
Windows XP Home
No Internet or LAN set-up
No Anti-Virus Software to slow it down.

Even with game resolution at LOWEST settings, the game becomes choppy & stalls.
Only 4 TOTAL items listed in "MSCONFIG" so I don't think there's anything in the background running.
I only have some DV camcorder Video editing software(Pinnacle), that's all that's loaded.
Nothing has been over clocked
I don't EVEN want to think about DOOM 3 yet...
Thanks!

What's the graphics card? You have ATI 128MB...what type? Radeon 9xxx? Rage?

Send a message via AIM to ZeratulsAvenger
How about you be more specific with the viedo card.... all the rest seems fine. Good amount of RAM, HD space, CPU...

Talking

WOW, what a difference!
My built by ATI 9200 Radeon 128mb AGP was running choppy even in the lowest modes.
Visited ATI's web site and downloaded newer graphic drivers.
Old driver from 7/19/03 #6.14.10.6374 (sucks) was replaced by
new driver from 8/3/2004 #6.14.10.6467.
I've been playing all night @ 1024x768 not one stalled frame. AWESOME!
Thanks!

You prolly had AA and AF maxed out in driver properties and the new driver install erased those settings.
