Warcraft III on integrated graphics?
I have integrated graphics on my Asus AV78X-MX SE motherboard that use 32 mb ram...would warcraft be able to run on this? It requires "8 mb 3d video card with direct x 8.1 support"

I think it could but you wouldnt have a great picture. If you are asking to know if the game will work before you buy it then just try the demo.

Yes, but it is always good to check first the demo.

Yes it worked with intergrated graphics on my old computer, but it was very choppy, but I'm not sure if that was because it had only 96mb of RAM or the video card (I think it was the RAM). But by the way, I read somewhere on pcmech that for demos they lower the requirements of the game so even if it runs the demo it may not run the real game.

I wouldn't think they do that, since most people download the demo TO SEE if they can run the game. But that is the world of rational thought, and unfortunately is not all encompasing.

Yea i tried the demo which worked fine, but you could be right about the full game not working, im going to buy it from my friend who doesnt play anymore anyway for $15 so if it doesnt work i can just give it back to him...also i have a decent (i think) graphics card in my dell dimension, if i took this out and put it in my agp, would that be all i have ot do to install it? then i could put an old crappy IDE vid card in the dell, since its not used for gaming (just internet, word processing, aim)

If you took the other card then you would need to install the drivers and remove the ones of the old card. Maybe also go in the BIOS and disable the integrated one, dont know if you need to do that though.

Out of curiosity I loaded W3 onto a AMD mobo with S3 Graphics UniChrome 2D/3D Graphics (onboard) and 256 mb RAM and it played fine.
-Spartan edit: not as smooth or hi res as my gaming system but certainly playable at 8x6 |

My fren got a p4 spec with 128mb of ram but shared 32mb by graphics. He loaded WC3 yesterday and it was awfully lag from what I seen. Then after "releasing"some of the RAM from the graphics which makes it only 8mb of shared memory. The game plays fine and no problem. So i guess is "double the ram, double the fun".

I think i should be fine with the RAM, 32 mb isnt too much so i still have 480mb left. The demo seems to be working fine, i guess ill buy the game and just run on integrated- should work fine, i may try halo too. Dont think im gunna bother ripping the card out of my old dell-ill probably screw something up

If you think that you may be doing more gaming in the future, it may be time to invest in a good video card.

I play WC3 on a P4 2GhZ northwood, Geforce 4 - 420 MX, 256 RAM and I can't play every aspect of the game because it just gets unplayable when too many units are on-screen. However, I dont think WC3 is relying that much on your GPU as it is on your CPU and RAM, but I might be wrong about this. Just so you know Moose.

One of my cousins bought that game and installed it on his Acer Cely 333 with 64 MB in RAM and shared video. The game would play reasonably fine till more than 20 units appeared on screen (he wasn't multiplaying or anything) the game would just get unplayable at all. He ended up purchasing a brand new computer from my store: Pentium 4 2.4GHz FSB 533, 256MB in RAM and a Radeon 9500 Pro, which ended his problems.
