It features the first 3 levels and many have said that it represents the entire game, that is, the rest of the game is just like the demo and it gets repetitive. You decide. Hey Alienware_Dude, I could prolly send you a CD, you on dial up?

I know the retail version says you must have 2000/XP to play it. I wonder if the Demo is compatible with Win98SE???
Anyone played this Demo on 98SE???

I'm downloading it now. The fastest source I could find is going 50 KB/s. It'll be about 2 hours.
What's the deal with BitTorrent anyway? I can never get over 4KB/s with it.

You need to open ports 6889-6999 on your firewall, on your router, and remove the XP SP2 firewall, or another one you have running, or open those ports...

No problem. I like your post better though because it provides multiple download sources.
Unfortunately, I will not be playing Doom 3. I really do not enjoy urinating myself. ~sd

Well it finished downloading and I have been playing it. I am really surprised at how well it runs on my machine. I have the graphics on high and the resolution at 1024x768 and it runs great. It runs much better than the MOH Pacific Assault demo which doesn't look nearly as good. It really should not run this good because my system doesn't meet the minimum RAM requirements. I only have 256 MB of RAM right now! The game looks amazing and I am nothing short of impressed so far by every aspect. It's like being in a horror movie. I have noticed that most of the sound comes out of the center speaker and there aren't much surround effects (that may be because it's late and not turned up loud) but otherwise the sound is excellent. The need to switch between the flashlight and your weapon just adds to the suspense and I don't see why people complain. I will keep playing and add more when I have finished the demo. So far this looks like it may be worth buying.

I have a gig of RAM, and a P4 2.8GHz CPU, but I think it should run well on your specs too. Did you try to change resolution/quality? What do you have running in the background? |

Hmm... well perhaps it was the no reboot for a month or so, but it ran well on those same settings for me after an accidental reboot... looked much nicer too. Now it just seems as though I lost all skill in these sorts of games
And I forgot to save... When I heard about checkpoints I assumed they would auto save for me... well I died, darn Weirdly I made it to some place so that it went to the loading screen last time with the worse lookingness... Maybe I can try again tomorrow.

I don't think your onboard video will have enough rpms to play this game.

integrated
it sounds like you have integrated video. is your monitor plugged into an expansion card, or the mobo. if mobo, then integrated. get yourself an expansion. if you have an expansion, get a better one, like a geforce 6800/gt/ultra.
