Far Cry: the god of all games, so far

Okay, I picked up Far Cry on the way home from work, and it rocks!! The graphics are beautiful, the game is fast paced and suspensful, and the music rocks!

But, deep down in my heart, I am truly a cheater. I love cheats. I would like to cheat with this game. Say what you will, but it's just the way I enjoy games. Anywhoo, I found this here cheat for it: cheat
Could someone explain to me exactly how to do this? I copied the programing into the file (after copying the original to a different folder), but I get stuck around putting "-devmode" at the end of the executeable. The dialogue box won't let me exit after adding that bit. Any help would be great!

I used this cheat to.
Just go to properties and add -DEVMODE after everything else in the target text box.
Mine looks like this:
"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe" -DEVMODE

I've been playing the game for some time now myself. And, have wanted to cheat to get through the hardest parts. I'm not that good really. I've tried everything I've found to no avail. Nothing I've read works. I have devmode at the end of the target, it accepted it and still no go. I notice you have added a dash before DEVMODE, and you used caps, does it matter and is the dash needed to make it work? I can open the console and type in the commands, it will except them but they don't work. If I type in something stupid, it says bad command or something like that.

I actually followed this guide for the cheat, then I couldn't figure out what to do about the command line, and I put in exactly what Paranormal put. It works great.

well I finally got devmode to work, and absolutly without it I couldn't have finished the game. I don't really see how it is possible to. I didn't realize how close I was. Now that it's done I'm gonna reload windows and speed things back up. I've had XP for a couple years and it needs cleaning up now.

I don't know about you guys, but I think cheats ruin the fun of the game... I mean, the more challenging, the better the game is (for me) anyways, just a thought.

I usually don't cheat very much either. When I do it is after I have beaten the game.

i cant get mine to work i found the EXE file but it only lets me change the name and not the targets etc.. and when changing the name it doesnt let me put the " as it says its not allowed

Make a shortcut to the exe and put it in the shortcut

ok this is what it allows me to put into the shortcut
"C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Bin32\FarCry.exe -DEVMODE.exe"

I didn't do it on the actual file, I did it in the Properties for the shortcut on my desktop. I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but that's how I did it. Did you try the guide linked above?

And as for cheating, I love it. I always have, and probably always will. All my friends make fun of me, but it's just how I like to play the game. Now I'm going through Far Cry without cheats, and it's really hard! But maybe I'll get better!

Look at this pic. Goto the main file right click, send to, desktop, create shortcut. In the shortcut as per the pic, enter the parameter. In the game press 'o' or 'p' for weapons and ammo. If you want god mod you have to edit an additional file. Make sure you have at least v1.1
