Games Rebooting my PC

Alright i posted this in the XP forum last time, my mistake ^^

heres the problem - whenever i play a select few games which i will list now:

Star wars battlefront
Planetside
Chaser
Halo
Counter-Strike Condition Zero
Painkiller
And theres a few others cant reamber o.O

All of these games after opening them up they will reboot my PC sometimes it just resets and goes back to login screen, others it sort of like freezes and stalls the noises and black screen (basically screen turnes off). A couple of times ive had a blue screen with this error...

bla..bla Technical Info: ***** Stop: 0x000000044 (0x86529AF0,0x00000060,0x00000000,0x00000000)

Says stuff like Disable any new hardware check system for bios caching and shadowing (which i dont have in my bios ??? )

Basically the restarts are not timed they can be anytime i can play for 2hours and it does this, sometimes i can be on the options menu changing settings and it crashes. Like i said it is REALLY random

---------

Now these are the games i can play and they never reboot

Doom 3
Far Cry
Lineage II
Raven Shield
Star Wars Galaxies
Counter-Strike (pretty much all steam games besides condition zero)
and theres alot of others

Ive tried EVERYWHERE for this problem, ive formatted changed my psu/gfx card/added extra ram, my last hope if build a new pc if i cant fix it.

I appricate any help anyone can give me, hope this helps other people to cause i seen a few people with same problem around

Well let's start simple. What hasn't changed? The mobo. And since it asks about BIOS options it leads me to believe that some option in there is causing problems.

Have you made any hardware upgrades? Have you installed new software or installed new device drivers? (such as new catalyst or det drivers)

What are your system specs?

I often get those stop messages when I have installed any drivers or software related to my graphics card.

I have an MSI Ati Radeon X800 XT and for some reason windows doesn't like the bundled MSI Live Update software. Guess I can live without it.

Probably a driver issue, maybe try some different one's?

Try updating to the latest catalyst drivers. Also install the .NET framework from Microsoft.

Any more information on this potential fix? I have this issue on a few games and was wondering how this may effect it? I don't think I have the .NET installed currently.

smokin

I recently purchased an ATI Radeon 9600 and had problems until I removed the AGP driver my board came with and installed an updated one from my chipset manufacturer (Sis). Have you tried this yet?

Send a message via AIM to Alienware_Dude
Yes, you should always make sure your chipset drivers are up-to-date.
