DAOC crashes pc

Hi all, i just reformatted my comp after my raid0 array failed. anyway new drives, and fresh install... after a while, while i am playing dark ages of camelot, the screen locks up and the sound starts crunching and looping about 1-2 secs worth of sound.

first i thought it was winamp, so i shut that off... but it crashed again right after i had restarted teh comp. Could it possibly be vid/sound drivers? It never used to crash before the format.

i am using asus p4p800 dlx, 2.6 p4 HT cpu, 2 120gb SATA drives in Raid0, soundblaster audigy 2 zs, ati radeon 9600 pro ultimate. i have windows xp pro installed too.

I am thinking its a driver issue, but havnt had a chance to try it using an older video driver.

thx

tazz

What Catalyst version are you running? What DX version? What are your temps?

what do u mean by temps?

Im using catalyst 4.90, directx 9.0c (xp sp2).

I have a feeling it might be my sound drivers - cause i installed the software from the cd that i got with the card... it must have written over my newer sound drivers with older ones.

cant get too much info right now, im sitting at a comp at work. but my initial plan at the moment when i get home is... to try newest sound drivers again... and reinstall the vid drivers...but i will try omega drivers.

my system was running fine before no probs... i know i was using catalyst 4.60, but im unsure of what my sound driver ver was. i also know i was using sp2 and directx9.0c then too.

Temps=temperatures. You can check them in your BIOS setup. Whoops, you installed the Creative crapware? That stuff is not worth touching with a 10-foot pole - drivers only here. That may be your problem right there.
