HL2 has gone gold & release date

It's official, HL2 has gone gold and will ship on November 16.

A couple of months back, I didn't think this would happen. I'll wait and see if the game is worth the hype.

Well, maybe I should have posted there, but this thread has the official announcement and a release date.

Yep - a more "distinct title"...thanks for the heads up though, AYM.

As with Doom 3, I shan't buy it until it costs $ 30 CAD or less.

Ohh, too many good games! HL2, GTA: San Andreas, Halo 2. I don't know what to do! I need more RAM, a new graphics card, AND an Xbox! Oh, I guess I won't eat for a while!

HL2 is Half-Life 2, not Halo 2.

Yeah, if I were to buy Halo 2 for pc (when it finally came out) or Half-Life 2 I would have to upgrade my system. Thank goodness I have an xbox at least.

I believe ForceFlow's thread was about Valve sending the game to the rating board. NOT about the game going gold and getting and receiving a release date.

Anyhow, I too have been looking foward to the game for quite a while. Ever since Blue Shift and Opposing Force came out, I've been asking, where is a real sequel. After so many delays, the leak, false gold reports, etc. I think I lost a little luster for the game. Oh well, now maybe I'm not to hyped up about it.

I think that could be a problem with a lot of people and something which might affect profits in its initial release.

Same here. I mean, it better be *really* good if we've had to wait this long. doom3 wasn't as fantastic as it was hyped up to be, so I just hope HL2 really hits the mark.
