Hi, just wondering, I have a Voodoo 3 3000 agp card, and on my system everything runs fine (gameplay wise I mean). Just wondered though is it worth upgrading to a Hercules 3D Prophet II MX 32mb?
I'm not really that bothered because I only have a 15inch monitor and I run games in 800 by 600, will I really see that bigger a leap in performance. My cpu is an AMD Thunderbird @ 850, 128meg ram (crucial cas2) with an ABIT KT7A mobo, Soundblaster Live! soundcard. I'm not looking for cutting edge just something that gives me a nice constant, smooth framerate (although to be honest its not that bad with the voodoo) so is it worth doing or just wait? |

If you're content with the voodoo, I'd go ahead and wait. At higher resolutions the Geforce 2MX will give you better performance. I guess it really depends on what kind of games you play. If you're getting jerky framerates in all your games at 800x600 you may want to consider upgrading. But if things work fine, you could probably stay with the Voodoo.

Yeah, I think I will stay with it for a while, maybe when the some of the newer 3D games are out I'll think about it again, in a couple of months time or so.
Thanks. |
