call of duty reinstall issue

I had to reformat my drive and after I reinstalled COD, clicking the MP or SP icon comes up with "configure.csv not found". I removed all registry entries for COD and Activision and installed again but get same error. BTW it is a retail version. No patches installed yet.

Did you snag the latest drivers for your video/sound/mainboard? What version of DirectX are you running?

Thumbs up

Far as I know--I have DX90.b latest drvrs for X800 pro, new via drivers...it ran on this machine before. What is the file for? Is it a game file or an XP or hardware related file?
I'm at work now so I can't verify the via drivers but my machine is an XP3000 on a 333 msi board, SB sound card, WinXP OS, Visiontek Xtasy X800 pro vidcard. BTW, thanks for the response.

I Googled it, and came up with a bunch of stuff - try the fix in this thread: http://www.mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18120 If that doesn't work, just google 'configure.csv', and a lot of useful information will come up.
