Doom 3 Freezes on Exit

Ok this isnt a major problem but I was just wondering if someone had any suggestions: First of all, Doom 3 runs fine during gameplay, no freezing, etc. However, every time I click to exit the game to desktop, it freezes and I have to cntrl, alt, del to exit game. Any ideas?

System specs:

Athlon XP 2600+
1.5 Gb PC 2700 RAM
GeForce FX 6800 GT Video Card

PS: this didnt happen til I installed the new video card, so I know it has something to do with that, but I just don't know how to fix it. I have the latest GeForce drivers.

Did you uninstall the old drivers/device first before installing the new?...
If you are not having dramas with other games and in general usage, maybe try backing up your save games and re-installing Doom3 again... or maybe there is a patch out there that might fix it if that doesn't work.
It might have something to do with switching back over resolutions also between game and desktop.
